01377 – Waiting Among the Cornstalks

One evening soon after, Sandy and I fell into a conversation about…the crow in the tree. Sandy said, “You know what came to mind when I saw that crow perched over us? I thought of the Native American proberb about the eagle and the crow in each of us.

The eagle flies here, there, and everywhere, following the wild currents of the wind. But the crow sits serenely among the cornstalks and waits.”

…Letting go is like releasing a tight spring at the core of yourself, one you’ve spent your whole life winding and maintaining. When you let go, you grow still and silent. You learn to sit among the cornstalks and wait with God.
