Availability
Over thirty-five years of music ministry in traditional/liturgical churches has equipped me with lots of experience and expertise in:
- planning meaningful, creative worship services
- directing sanctuary (adult) choirs
- directing youth choirs
- directing and coordinating children’s choirs (preschool thru grade 6)
- directing senior adult choirs
- directing handbell choir
- directing instrumental and vocal ensembles
- directing congregational singing
- directing theatrical productions for adults, children, and youth
- creating visual enhancements (banners, program covers, displays) to enhance worship
Besides preparing music and worship for Sunday services, I’ve taken groups to festivals, on tours, and to perform at local nursing homes and community events. I’ve directed cantatas and seasonal programs; coached soloists; and presented hymnody studies. I’ve been invited to: sing sacred concerts at various churches and denominational events; lead revival music and choral clinics for various churches; sing and adjudicate for community musical events.
Children’s choirs has long been a specialty area for me. Besides coordinating choirs, training workers, and directing musical day camps for churches I’ve served, I’ve also co-directed Kentucky Baptist all-state children’s choirs, conducted state-wide children’s music camps for Kentucky and Tennessee, conducted a children’s choral festival in Illinois, adjudicated children’s choir festivals, taught state-level choir worker training clinics, been a faculty member for numerous state-wide children’s music camps, and have composed sacred anthems and children’s songs for various publishers.
Current Availability
Now that I am semi-retired, I am making myself available to churches and other organizations for:
- CHILDREN’S CHOIR FESTIVAL CONDUCTOR, CLINICIAN, or ADJUDICATOR
- perhaps a weekend event?
- SUBBING or SHORT INTERIMS for absent music ministers
- large or small churches
- Sunday worship, and Wednesday rehearsals, if needed
