[on being a foster parent:]

I know what some of you are saying: “I could never do that. I would get too attached.”

Let me remind you of something. Christianity is dying to one’s self for the sake of Christ and others. Every time one of these children leaves our home, we die a little bit. But we believe God will restore us and has wonderful things planned for us because of our willingness to put the needs of these children ahead of our own emotional attachment.

Jesus said, “Whosoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me.” So we believe that when we bring a child into our home, we are bringing in Jesus Himself.
