01429 – Joining God’s Holy Adventure

While an adventurous spirituality does not claim to provide scientific data that proves God’s ever-transforming power throughout the universe, the vision of God’s holy adventure boldly asserts that God is continually working in our personal, planetary, and cosmic evolution, and reminds us that we live in the “eighth day” of creation.

Though Scripture speaks of God resting on the Sabbath, this divine rest is symbolic of God’s gift of freedom and creativity to the whole world. God’s Sabbath invites us to become God’s conscious partners in shaping the future of the planet and our own communities…

I believe that God is still creating. New possibilities are always emerging in our lives and in the planetary adventure. Though we live in a risky universe in which happy endings cannot be presumed, we can choose to become God’s partners in an open system whose best days lie in the future.
