The gospel is the good news of God’s unconditional love for each and every created thing and the command of God that justice be done for each and every created thing. God’s pure, unbounded love is to be shown to each and every relationship and situation.
When the witness of a text assumes God’s love for each and all, the text is appropriate to the gospel. But when the text denies that God loves any created thing, it is inappropriate to the gospel. In some cases, the witness of a text is altogether appropriate or altogether inappropriate.
