Imagine if I were to tell my wife, “Baby, you’re number one. No matter how many other wives I take, you’ll be my first.” No! That’s not going to be a good marriage. Love demands exclusivity. My wife doesn’t want to be #1, she wants to be the only one. So, love and exclusivity are not at odds with each other.
