Every day, I am reminded…
1. Dismissing is easier than listening.
2. Judging is easier than seeking to understand.
3. Concluding is easier than patiently remaining open.
4. Stereotyping is easier than seeing.
5. Profiling is easier than curiously engaging.
6. Other people can be both portraits and mirrors. Unless I am intentionally mindful of this, it is easy to mistake which I am looking at in the moment.
7. Projection is real. And lazy. And deceptive. And distracting. And foolish. And something we all are prone to.
8. Life and people are mostly beautiful.
9. The more I stay in my hula-hoop in terms of what I can control and who I can change, the more peaceful I am. And the better work I do.
10. And when I used the word “easier” above I meant only in the immediate. Actually living a cynical, judgmental life is quite hard. At least eventually.
11. Maybe the better word would have been “quicker.” And the process of becoming a soul is not quick work.
