I’m so weary of the kind of Christianity that is so convinced it is going extinct that it is willing to abandon all the teachings of Jesus in order to “win” by “any means necessary.”

This is not only a belief deeply rooted in fear, it is also a belief that deeply misunderstands the cross of Jesus.

Jesus gained victory through self sacrificial love, the way of the cross, not the way of the empire or the sword.

The moment we Christians tie our religious identity to a nation, a political party, a particular subculture, a particular ideology, and authoritarians is the moment we stop pursuing the gospel of Jesus and begin pursuing the gospel of “divide and conquer.”
