The Bible says that Jesus wept when He saw Mary weeping over the death of her brother. It records that Peter denied Jesus three times on the night of Jesus’ arrest. When it dawned on Peter what an abject failure he was, he went out into the night and wept.

Tears say something about what is close to our heart. They release some of the pressure on our soul the way lowering the water level of a lake releases some of the pressure on a dam. When we struggle with hurt and pain and cannot find words to express it, tears are an unspoken way of expressing it.
