Throughout the ages, women have been continually oppressed, treated as property and denied basic freedoms. Have you ever wondered why women did not earn the right to vote in this country until 1920–57 yrs. after the Emancipation Proclamation and 144 after the Declaration of Independence?
Perhaps a clue is found in Horace Bushnell’s 1869 book, titled Women’s Suffrage: The Reform Against Nature. This preacher predicted that “if women started voting, their brains would swell, and they would eventually lose their femininity and their morals.”
