The church is not called to be the morality police of the world, legislators of holiness, or judges convicting people according to God's law. The church is not called to be a courtroom. It is called to be a sanctuary.
We must not be frightened nor cajoled into accepting evil as deliverance from evil. We must go on struggling to be human, though monsters of abstractions police and threaten us.
The good news is that there are no gatekeepers to Jesus. People try to be. Pastors, theologians, churches, and others police theology, enforce legalism, and criticize people's faith. But God loves everyone even when Christians don't.
